چکیده
Su’al Qiniya is a condition in Unani/Persian medicine that reflects an imbalance in the liver, specifically a “cold” temperament, affecting the body’s humoral and digestive functions. Known for symptoms like pale skin, tiredness, swelling, and poor digestion, Su’al Qiniya is sometimes thought of as similar to anemia. However, according to Unani philosophy, this condition is referred to as Fasad-e-Mizaj (impaired temperament), Sue Mizaj (morbid temperament). It is often linked to a weakened liver function, often referred to as Zoaf-e-Jigar, and is seen as a precursor to more serious conditions like ascites. Thus, this article explores how Su’al Qiniya is distinct, rooted in Unani concepts that link it to a cold liver state and early signs of liver disease rather than just a low blood count. By comparing Unani views with modern medical ideas, this article highlights the need to see Su’al Qiniya as a unique condition that requires diagnosis and treatment according to Unani methods.
