چکیده | ||
Background: Transfer education is one of the main concerns in Spinal Cord Injuries. Video is a valuable teaching aid that enhances learning. This study aims to prepare an educational video on transfers for people with paraplegic SCI. Methods: In this practical developmental study, a transfer training video was created through some stages: developing the script, and instructing a person with SCI and his wife on all transfer steps. Subsequently, an experience videographer produced the video. An expert panel of Occupational Therapist, and Physiotherapist reviewed the video for clarity and relevance to finalize it. Following this, satisfaction of 30 individuals with SCI, comprising 23 men and 7 women, with a mean age of 33.83±7.38 years, was measured using the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure. Participants then viewed the final video at home with a caregiver and re-evaluated satisfaction, and also effectiveness, and quality through Evaluation Tool for Educational Videos in Medical Sciences. This comprehensive process produced a validated, user-centered educational resource. Results: The expert panel's comments were presented in detail and applied to the educational video. The average satisfaction score of the study participants significantly increased from 3.17 to 3.61 (P<0.001), indicating a notable improvement. The video's effectiveness and quality in filmmaking received an average score of 35.91 ± 2.55, while the average score in education was 34.52 ± 2.04. Conclusion: This educational video was practical and could enhance satisfaction. The success of this video in improving transfer education opens up exciting possibilities for future studies employing educational videos in occupational therapy. | ||
