چکیده | ||
Background: Stroke survivors suffer from functional limitations, including upper extremity impairments. The present paper aimed to investigate psychometric properties of Chedoke Arm and Hand Activity Inventory (CAHAI-13) in patients with stroke. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 105 stroke patients and 10 experts. Translation was performed according to IQOLA protocol. The CAHAI-13 alongside Action Research Arm Test (ARAT), Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT), and Fugl-Meyer Assessment-Upper Extremity (FMA-UE) were administered. Content, construct, convergent, divergent and known-group validity, internal consistency, test-retest, and inter-rater reliability were examined. Results: Experts expressed that the Persian CAHAI-13 had acceptable content validity. A significant (P<0.001) positive correlation was found between CAHAI-13 and ARAT (r=0.84), WMFT (r=0.91), and FMA-UE (r=0.74) indicating sufficient convergent validity. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis revealed that one-factor model had proper fit indices in stroke population. The CAHAI-13 had good discriminative ability (F=123.36, P<0.001). The results showed acceptable internal consistency (α=0.96), test-retest reliability (ICC=0.85), and excellent inter-rater reliability (ICC=0.93). Conclusion: The results of the current study showed that CAHAI-13 has acceptable psychometric features for evaluating upper extremity in stroke survivors in research and clinical settings. | ||
